This coffee table was a fun DIY project for vintage month!
First, I found a coffee table at a garage sale for $5.
Then, I painted the coffee table using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. Color used – Old White.
I found a free squirrel image from TheGraphicsFairy.com. The vintage squirrel was scanned from a rare and early, Circa 1790’s, German Natural History Print. Using a wax paper method, I transferred the image to the top of the coffee table. Since some of the detail was lost during the transfer, I then painted in details using acrylic paint. I painted in two more pine cones.
After letting the acrylic paint dry, I applied Annie Sloan’s clear and dark wax, following her tips for creating a simple vintage look (see below video).
